Switzerland is the most complex destination we serve — and the one where choosing the wrong removal company costs you the most time and money.
Unlike all our other destinations, Switzerland sits entirely outside the EU customs area. Every shipment crossing the Swiss border — regardless of contents — must go through full customs clearance with the BAZG (Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security). This means paperwork that most standard removal companies are not equipped to handle.
We manage the entire Swiss customs process: detailed inventory list in the required format, Swiss customs form 18.44 (Übersiedlungsgut — the personal relocation goods declaration), copies of residence registration documents, and coordination with the Swiss customs authority at the point of entry. Personal household goods relocated with a change of primary residence are generally duty-free — but only with correct documentation.
The route runs from the UK via Channel Tunnel or Calais ferry, through France or Germany, and across the Swiss border. London to Zurich is approximately 1,200 km. Expect 4–6 days for most routes, slightly longer for alpine regions.
