TRANSPORT TERMS – By placing an order with Easy Move, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accept the following terms and conditions:

1. Company Information

Easy Move is a transport and moving coordination company operating across the UK and Europe. We function as a freight forwarder and may subcontract services to independent carriers who own their own vehicles, provide drivers, and carry valid carrier liability insurance (OCP).

2. Vehicle Sizes & Load Limits

Easy Move arranges transport for the following vehicle sizes:

  • 2.5m³ – up to 200 kg
  • 5m³ – up to 300 kg
  • 10m³ – up to 600 kg
  • 15m³ – up to 900 kg
  • 20m³ – up to 1200 kg
  • 40m³ truck – up to 7.5 tons gross vehicle weight

It is the customer’s responsibility to accurately assess the size and weight of the shipment. Any excess will incur a surcharge of £1 per 1kg over the agreed weight. The customer is liable for any fines related to vehicle overloading and the cost of an additional vehicle if needed.

3. Service Commitment

Easy Move commits to dispatching a subcontracted vehicle with a driver on the agreed date. Delivery times typically range from 2 to 5 working days depending on the route and availability.

4. Booking & Payment Terms

A £200 deposit confirms the booking. The remaining balance must be paid either upon unloading or by bank transfer cleared before unloading.

Prices are based on customer-provided details. If the actual shipment exceeds the quoted volume or weight, Easy Move reserves the right to recalculate the price up to 3 business days before transport.

Cancellation: Orders canceled less than 7 working days before the scheduled move will result in the loss of the deposit.

5. Liability and Insurance

All services are carried out by subcontractors who hold valid carrier liability insurance (OCP) up to €10,000. Easy Move does not own or operate its own transport vehicles.

Customers are responsible for packing and securing their goods properly. Easy Move is not liable for:

  • Damage caused by poor packing
  • Breakages or missing items
  • Minor scratches or wear
  • Delays due to customs or legal issues

Goods are not insured for damage or loss during transit. Customers should arrange additional insurance if required.

6. Client Responsibilities

  • Pack all goods securely
  • Weigh and measure the shipment accurately
  • Be available during loading and unloading
  • Do not include restricted or illegal items

Drivers are not responsible for disassembly, assembly, electrical or plumbing tasks, or accessing unsafe areas (e.g., lofts without safe flooring and lighting).

7. Excluded Services

We do not offer:

  • Furniture assembly or disassembly
  • Appliance disconnection or installation
  • Floor covering removal
  • Loft removals without safe access
  • Handling outdoor structures (e.g., sheds, greenhouses)

Our subcontractors are not trained or authorised for such tasks. Hire a professional if needed.

8. Limited Liability for Goods

Unless agreed in writing, our liability is limited to £20 per item for loss or damage caused by our negligence.

Each container (box, bag, crate) is considered one item.

For moves outside the EU, we are not liable for seizures, delays, or damage caused by customs or border agencies unless resulting from our direct negligence.

9. Damages to Property

If we cause property damage during the move due to negligence, liability is limited to repair of the damaged area. No liability applies if the customer instructed the driver against advice.

Damage must be reported at the time of unloading or within a reasonable timeframe.

10. Right of Lien

We have the legal right to retain goods until all outstanding payments are made. If payment is not received within 7 days, we reserve the right to sell or dispose of the goods to recover owed amounts.

11. Subcontracting

We reserve the right to subcontract any or all parts of the transport. These terms remain valid regardless of subcontractor involvement.

12. Refusal of Service

We may refuse service without explanation if customer information is inaccurate or incomplete. In such cases, deposits are non-refundable.

13. Prohibited Items

We do not transport:

  • Prohibited or dangerous goods
  • Illegal substances (drugs, alcohol, tobacco)
  • Live animals or plants
  • Human remains
  • Art, antiques, jewelry, currency, securities

Violation will result in a penalty of five times the service cost and possible legal action for further damages.

We are not responsible for customs delays, fines, or confiscations resulting from undeclared or illegal items.

15. Delays and Replacement Vehicles

In case of unforeseen issues, we will assign a replacement subcontractor at no extra cost. The new subcontractor takes over all responsibility. Safe reloading may occur if needed.

We are not liable for delays caused by weather, traffic, customs, or mechanical issues beyond our control.

16. Documentation and Claims

A CMR document is issued at pickup. All claims must be reported to the driver at unloading. Claims submitted later may not be accepted.
